The Club focuses on one-design keelboat racing. Keelboats differ from dinghies in that they have a heavy keel, which makes capsizing virtually impossible.  The three RMYC fleets are very different classes of boat, adding another layer of nuance to the sailing on offer.

Royal Mersey Mylnes are classic sailing boats specifically designed for RMYC by Alfred Mylne in 1935.

Squibs are small and agile, not much bigger than a dinghy, and perfect for learning the essential techniques of keelboat sailing.

Etchells are thoroughbred racing machines offering fast and technical racing.
