At our last Club Night there was a fascinating presentation by a group of our members who have recently competed in the Round the World clipper Race. Our Captain David Howe and Al Loy sailed on the Punta Del Este on several of the legs including across the fabled Southern Ocean. However centre stage goes to Andrew Henry, who, having never sailed previously, completed the full circumnavigation – an astounding achievement!. The team achieved a respectable second place in the overall standings.
The talk included tales of their many experiences, including racing incidents, living aboard, storm sailing, knockdowns and much more. Great Respect.
